EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

BRONICA GLOVER

Bronica Glover serves as GEP's executive director. Mrs. Glover has been with GEP since 2001, beginning as a volunteer for monthly family night, then serving as the director of programs before transitioning into her current role. Mrs. Glover is the third person in the organization's history to hold the executive director title. She precedes the late Adelaide Hunt, who served as the director for more than 20 years, and the late Cathy McIlwain, who served in the position for nearly 15 years.

Mrs. Glover is a native of Columbia, S.C. She attended Johnson C. Smith University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. In her 15-plus years of experience, Mrs. Glover has been employed with or volunteered at various not-for-profits, including the Light Factory Photographic Arts Center, Opera Carolina, Community School of the Arts, Discovery Place and the Girl Scouts Hornets Nest Council.

Mrs. Glover is very passionate about working with youth and prides herself in ensuring that all students are afforded equal opportunities to enrich their lives. She wants every child in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community to be successful and works hard to engage the organization's community partners in GEP programming. She is an advocate for showcasing the importance of Out of School Time Programs and travels around the region learning about trends and best practices in other afterschool programs.

Mrs. Glover has her N.C. Administrative Credentials, is a graduate of the Wake Forest University Essentials of Business for Nonprofits Program, Third Sector Leadership Program, Arts and Science Cultural Leadership Training and the Duke Nonprofit Program.

In her spare time, she continues to work with children in the community by serving, for the last twelve years, as the Girl Scout leader to a large troop in Huntersville.
