BRUNS AVENUE SITE DIRECTOR
ASHLEY WINGATE-COOK
Mrs. Wingate-Cook was born and raised in Washington, DC. She arrived in Charlotte in 2003 as a freshman at Johnson C. Smith University, where she studied diligently and earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree. Throughout her career as a social worker, she has served diverse populations, including the geriatric, mentally ill, neurodivergent individuals, inner-city youth, and those from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
Mrs. Wingate-Cook’s journey with the Greater Enrichment Program (GEP) is unique. She joined the GEP family in 2018 as a parent, later became a Classroom Associate, and now serves as a Site Director. She remains a dedicated member of the team because she believes deeply in Bishop Battle’s mission and is committed to helping bring his vision for the Greater Enrichment Program to life.
